Your day trip from the port or hotel in Agadir begins.
with a walk to the majestic ramparts and 9 archways. Visit the craftsmen's bazaar in the town's alleyways, famous for its Berber silver jewelry and carpets. People come from far and wide to haggle over these Berber carpets. Taroudant is located in the middle of a green valley, surrounded by the High Atlas mountains to the north and east and the Anti-Atlas to the south. 30 kilometers southeast, continue to the ruins of an ancient kasbah. It sits on a rocky outcrop and overlooks the village of Tiout and palm groves reminiscent of Marrakech. Today, the kasbah is a restaurant for tourists and the main attraction. Take in the breathtaking views of the High Atlas and the Souss valley from the summit. An interesting detail: "Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves," starring Fernandel, was filmed in this palm grove in 1954.
See picturesque 16th-century Berber towns on the road back to Agadir.
